Madison Cunningham Talks Staying Sane on Tour, Dream Collabs
Recently, Group Chat Mag had the pleasure of joining 1824 for a press conference featuring Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Madison Cunningham. She discussed how she stays grounded while on the road and what her dream collaboration would be.
When asked about how she manages the stresses of constant travel, Cunningham explained that maintaining routines and healthy habits/diets are key to keeping afloat. She emphasized that running has started to become an important part of her day-to-day as it is for other musicians as well. Additionally, she mentioned how she has decided to stop drinking on tour as well. One piece of advice she would’ve given herself when she first started touring is “to sleep as much as possible and to prioritize that over anything else. Everything kind of goes to shit after that, so that’s still what I would tell myself.”
The conversation also touched on future collaborations, and Cunningham didn’t hesitate to reveal her dream pick “Bjork- has to be. That’s my all time.” she then went on to explain how she’d want their collaboration to go “I’d want it to surprise us both… I would want it to be something we both make from ground zero that felt like us to see if we’d be a good creative match.”
Together, these insights painted a picture of an artist deeply committed to her craft, yet mindful of the balance required to sustain it. Whether envisioning a dream collaboration or navigating the realities of life on tour, Cunningham continues to show why she stands out as one of today’s most compelling voices in music.
